Anchorage
We happend to be in Anchorage for their annual Summer Solstice Celebration. Which included a (free!) roller derby with the Rage City Rollergirls. How cool is that!
Then, on to the wonderful Anchorage Museum. The stairway photos were taken in a brand-new addition that opened only a month prior to our visit. A beautiful, elegant, and captivating space!
A bench in front of a frosted glass window, just off one of the galleries.
A walrus, "Untitled," made of walrus ivory by John S. Penatac, 1976.
"Russian Nested Bowls," made of maple burl by Bill Bowers, 2002.
"Model kayak" by Sam K. Fox, 1972. Made of wood, string, sealskin, bone, and squirrel skin.
Headed home from a truly spectacular and wonderful vacation!
